St Faith's Centre is a purpose-built, energy-efficient community building in Maidstone, Kent, designed by Hawkes Architecture. Replacing an outdated church hall, the project provides a modern, flexible space for local residents, community groups and the adjoining Anglican church.

The architectural design responds carefully to the surrounding streetscape, incorporating a series of pitched gables and a distinctive corner entrance. The construction also incorporated recycled materials from the original building, which were crushed and reused within the new building's sub-base, helping to reduce waste and the environmental impact of the development.

A key feature of the project is its advanced long-wave infrared heating system, integrated directly into the building fabric, removing the need for conventional radiators or underfloor heating. Combined with the high-performance insulation and ventilation systems, these technologies contribute to the building's exceptional energy efficiency, achieving an EPC rating of A.

Internally, the centre provides flexible spaces for a wide range of community activities, including children's groups, fitness classes, music, drama and social events. Despite the sloping site, level access has been incorporated throughout the ground floor, creating an accessible and welcoming environment for visitors.
